Illness Guidelines
It is recommended that children with the following symptoms stay home for 24 hours. Children should be fever-free for at least 24 hours WITHOUT the use of fever reducing medications (Tylenol, Dayquil, etc.) before returning to school.
  • fever at or above 100.4F
  • diarrhea
  • vomiting
  • red, draining eyes
  • thick, green nasal discharge

If your child has been diagnosed with a communicable disease (strep, Pink Eye, Flu, COVID, Impetigo, etc.) please call so we can give you a return to school date as there are certain requirements your child has to meet before they can return.

Normally we do not call parents when students visit the health room. We will call if a student:
  • Throws up
  • Diarrhea
  • Students ask to call their parents
  • It is established that parents want to be called for every health room visit or for certain visits
  • An injury that needs more medical attention
  • An injury that looks okay but the student is very young (pre-/kdg)
  • An injury that looks okay but we want the parents to be aware just in case it gets worse.
  • Accidents/change of clothes
  • Complaints of ear aches with assessment of the ears
Medication Administration
  • Please make sure the prescribed medication label has this information on it:
        - Student's Name
        - Name of Medication
        - Dosage and directions for administration
        - Date
        - Prescribing physician's name
  • Please make sure that the medication and dosage in the container is the same as is described by the label.
  • If it is an OTC medication, be sure that it says, "as needed". We cannot give scheduled medications like Children's Dayquil and Mucinex. We also cannot give aspirin.
Immunization Requirements
Please look at the link below "Immunization Chart" for immunization requirements. If you have any questions you can call the school and ask for Nicole or Licsy. For religious exemption you can write/type a letter that simply states that your child is not getting immunizations because of religious reasons. For medical exemption please have your provider fill out the form below. Throughout the year we check if your child is up to date on immunizations. If they are non-compliant we give you 3 weeks to update the immunizations. There are two exclusion dates that happen district wide every year. Those dates are below.
  • Exclusion Dates: 10/15/2025, 12/15/2025, and 03/12/2026.

CLOTHING:
  • In our health room we have clothes that student's can borrow if they have an accident or spill something on them! We ask that you please return them so other student's can have the same opportunity. If you ever need to donate clothes our health room is a good place to start! It's also always a good idea to have an extra change of clothes in your child's backpack!
